A lot of fans sure think so. I personally feel like it’s too early to
write off the season, but things do not look good. Rather than focusing on the negative, let’s
take a look at the positive. The young
guys are really starting to make an impact, ie. Seager, Thompson and yes, even
Joc (in the field anyway). I have also
been pleasantly surprised with Adam Libertore, who I wanted DFA’d earlier in
the season. The emergence of Julio Urias
is also extremely promising, even though he only has about 70 innings left this
year, before they shut him down. This
brings me to the possible secret weapon.
We are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of Montas. The guy throws in the upper 90’s, and he is
sure to make a big impact, even if they decide it’s out of the bullpen. What puzzles me as well as the rest of the Dodgers
fans is why this team has been so horrendous on the offensive end this season. They have no fire, and they just look like
losers up at the plate. Take last night
for example; bases loaded with one out and Kike Hernandez up at the plate. It was painfully obvious that he was going to
strike out, and well, he did. What
happened next...do I even need to say it.
0-12 with runners in scoring position!
YIKES! This is becoming a broken
record for this team. I’m getting so
sick of watching this team fail time and time again. I am loyal though, and I will always support my
boys in blue. I can’t stand bandwagon
fans! Yes, the Dodgers are boring, but
you have to stay true. We are The
Dodgers are only a few players away from being a major contender, and I believe
that even though we may not catch the Giants, we can at least secure a Wild
Card spot. Only time will tell.
Card of the day is a steal from ebay that I got last year in the $70 range. Not too shabby for a Heritage auto:
Another secret weapon of yours may currently be in the Yankees bullpen right now...
ReplyDeleteThat's the rumor, but I kind of doubt that will happen. Yanks will want too many high end prospects, and I don't see the front office giving up any of our top 5. Who knows though? I'm excited to see what happens.
Delete$70???
ReplyDeleteI hate you...
= )
Nice pick up and congrats.
They need a reliable bat and another starter. I am thinking Sonny Gray somehow but we will see.
Hmm, not so sure I want Sonny Gray. He is undersized and hasn't had a very good year. Let's not forget Billy Beane will want some top of the line prospects for him. I would rather see what DeLeon can do. IDK though, we definitely do need a #2. A lot of fans want Braun, but I say PASS. Who do you want?
DeleteNot Braun thats for sure.
DeleteThere are just not that many bats that will be available. I wouldnt mind Kalhoun out of ANA as I think he will be traded but he wont be traded across "town".
The best "trade" might just be Ethier and Puig coming back and performing as they should and Trayce and Joc rotating as need be.
I didn't even think about hom! He's a gamer, and I wouldn't mind that at all. However, like you said that probably isn't going to happen. I really hope Puig improves at the plate. I'm hoping for Thompson, Joc and Puig in the OF. Did you hear about Ethier? He still can't put weight on it, and they're wondering why it isn;t healing the way it should. Total bummer, because Ethier was always Mr. consistent and provided a nice left handed bat and alternative to Puig and/or Thompson!
DeleteShhh. I won't tell you what that Kershaw auto cost me. You'll all hate me.
ReplyDeleteMan, am I the only one that hasnt scored this card for their collection yet?. Ha Ha. Congrats to you as well.
DeleteLet me guess, you paid 17 bucks for it? Am I close?...yes Penguin, you are the only one without one at this point ;-) I have hope for you though.
DeleteIt was free. I won it on a bet. But this was in 2009 or 2010.
