2016 Topps Legacies Kershaw

The following is the first live Kershaw card that I've seen of the Legacies Lasting Imprints /25, and I jumped quickly at the opportunity to acquire one for my collection.  There was a redemption listed for auction on ebay as well, but I wasn't interested in getting in a bidding war with the two Kershaw buyers that have unlimited amounts of money to throw away on cardboard.  These two individuals have no problem overpaying, and outbidding me on literally every nice Kershaw card, but I've learned to outmaneuver them on ebay (most of the time anyway).  Just as I suspected, these two were in competition for the redemption, and the winner of the auction totally overpaid.  What they didn't realize, is that there was a live version of this card with BIN or best offer, and to my surprise the seller accepted my offer within a day of it being listed.  If I do decide to grade this, it would most likely get a 9.5.  It looks flawless to me, but then again you just never know...Enjoy, and have a wonderful week!

Oh, you know, just another Kershaw Museum sticker auto

I've been trying to shy away from sticker autos lately, but I just couldn't resist this one.  With a print run of 10 and a nice blue stripe accompanying the shiny sticker, I figured I would go for it, especially because it's one of the nicer cards I've seen in this years Topps Museum release, which is generally pretty ugly IMO.  Notice the recycled photo on this card as well.  Nonetheless, this is a welcome addition to my Kersh PC.  Oh, and how about his 10 SO/1 ER performance today, despite the fact that he was having on "off" game?...and his 46 mph eephus pitch ruled!

Corey Seager Side PC

I was lucky enough to see Corey Seager play a bunch of games for the Quakes in the CA League a few years ago, and one thing that was abundantly clear was that he was in a league of his own. You could just tell that it was only a matter of time before he made it to the big leagues. Despite his young age, he was a man among boys.   Now in 2016 he is considered to be the odds on favorite to win ROY.  Lucky for me, I started my side PC before his cards blew up, and even though they are very pricey now, that won't stop me from picking up his cards here and there. I'm eagerly awaiting his on-card autos in Five Star and Tier One, but for now, here is the Gypsy Queen I picked up for a good deal.  Enjoy:

E-bay Bucks for the Win...

One of the nice things about e-bay bucks is that it gives you a chance to pay a bit more for a card that you really want without feeling guilty.  The card below was one I missed out on initially, and I was a bit impatient since this card is /25.  I really love the look of this card, so I decided to submit a really high offer, and the seller went for it of course.  IMO this is one of the nicer Kershaw's that Gypsy Queen has released, and I'm super excited to have it in my collection!

I also bought another Strata /50, because the patch looked so nice, and I wasn't pleased with the red patch I already received from Topps Redemptions. This was one of those "must haves" for me, and the price was right. Hope you guys enjoy the cards, and a very happy manic Monday to everyone out there...

Topps Strata Redemptions

One of my biggest gripes as a collector is that authentic memorabilia pieces are usually just random pieces of a jersey etc,. cut from an official MLB uniform, but not necessarily worn by the specific player and likely not even worn in the actual game.  Topps has finally changed it up a bit with the new Strata release.  The MLB authentic sticker on the jersey is numbered, and if you go to the MLB authentication web site, you can enter the number and see who wore the jersey and what game it's from.  I hope Topps realizes this is exactly what collectors have been asking for, for YEARS!

I was lucky enough to get two relic cards of Kershaw's game worn jersey from the following game:

June 6, 2015
Cardinals vs. Dodgers
Dodgers WON 2-0

Kershaw pitched 8 inning with 11 strikeouts and only gave up 1 hit!

These two cards actually mean a lot more to me now:
